Privacy policy

Private contact information is never displayed publicly.

Information we collect

When you register with the network we collect the information you enter: name, email address, and optionally phone number, organization, street address, city, state, ZIP code, website or social link, and any message you write.

Farmers and food producers who create a profile also provide farm details such as farm name, location, products, seasonal availability, capacity, production practices and any certifications they choose to describe.

Distribution partners provide company details, service areas and capabilities.

We record the date of your registration and internal lead-management information such as status and administrator notes.

Why we collect information

To understand where farmer supply, consumer demand and local distribution capacity exist, so we can decide which local markets to develop.

To contact you about your registration and about the network in your area.

To build and operate farmer and partner directories.

Network registration

Registering does not create a purchase, an order or a financial obligation. Registration is free.

A Founding Network Member designation is recognition of early participation only. It does not create ownership, equity, revenue rights or any other financial interest.

Email communication

We use your email address to reply to you and to send updates about the network. Emails are sent through a third-party email delivery provider on our behalf.

You can ask us to stop sending updates at any time by replying to any message or using the contact page.

Location information

We collect the city, state and optional ZIP code you type in. We do not collect GPS or device location.

Public pages show location only at city, metro or state level, and only once a location has enough registrations to protect individual identity. Street addresses are never published.

Farmer and business profiles

Information in a farmer or business profile is provided by the producer. Until we complete an independent verification process, such information is labeled as producer-provided.

A profile becomes publicly visible only after an administrator publishes it.

Public versus private information

Never public: email addresses, phone numbers, street addresses, private messages and internal administrator notes.

Potentially public: farm or business name, city and state, published profile details, and quotes you have explicitly approved for publication.

Cookies and analytics

The application uses cookies and browser storage that are necessary for sign-in sessions and site functionality.

We do not run third-party advertising trackers on this site. If we add analytics in the future, this policy will be updated before it goes into effect.

Data retention

We keep registration and profile information for as long as it is useful for developing the network, or until you ask us to delete it.

Records of emails we send you are kept with your registration so we have an accurate history of our communication.

Third-party service providers

We use third-party providers for application hosting, database and authentication services, and email delivery. These providers process information on our behalf so the application can function.

We do not sell your personal information.

Your choices

You can ask us to correct or delete your registration, ask us to stop emailing you, or opt out of appearing in the anonymous network activity feed.

Opting out of the activity feed does not remove your registration from the network.
